Osteoporosis is a bone disease that results in decreased trabecular bone density. Decreased trabecular bone density increases risk of bone fracture. The most common areas of bone fracture associated with osteoporosis are the spine, hip and wrist. Often there are no symptoms of osteoporosis before the first fracture occurs.
Preotact® is a full-length parathyroid hormone (PTH) that provides treatment for postmenopausal osteoporosis patients with decreased trabecular bone density that can increase bone mineral density and decrease bone fracture.
