With age the strength of bones diminishes due to loss of both calcium and elasticity. Osteoporosis is a disease that reduces the density and quality of bone, and increases the risk of bone fracture.

Preotact® is a new parathyroid hormone that can increase calcium concentration and reduce bone fracture. Parathyroid hormone is the main regulator of calcium re-absorption and its secretion is controlled by the concentration of extracellular calcium. The hormone stimulates production of the active vitamin D3 metabolite, which increases calcium concentration.
