Preotact® - parathyroid hormone

Preotact® is a full-length parathyroid hormone (PTH) therapy that can reduce the risk of bone fracture for postmenopausal osteoporosis patients. The parathyroid hormone stimulates bone formation and increases trabecular bone density, which can improve bone microarchitecture and restore bone quality and quantity of the osteoporosis patient.

Injecting Preotact® into the abdomen can increase plasma parathyroid hormone levels, and achieves a peak at 1 to 2 hours after dosing. Parathyroid hormone is a 84 amino acid protein that is synthesised and secreted in the parathyroid glands and subsequently released in the systemic circulation.
