Treatment of postmenopausal osteoporosis with Preotact®
Osteoporosis is a bone disease that is most common in women after menopause this is also known as postmenopausal osteoporosis. Postmenopausal osteoporosis is caused by estrogen deficiency following menopause that results in a rapid reduction of bone mineral density. There are often no symptoms of postmenopausal osteoporosis before the first bone fracture occurs.
Preotact® is a full-length parathyroid hormone (PTH) therapy that can reduce the risk of bone fracture for postmenopausal osteoporosis patients. Studies have demonstrated that Preotact® injections can increase bone mineral density and mechanical strength of postmenopausal osteoporosis patients.
